Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola
Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; whirling; dorsal view. This morphotype differs in some respects from the description(s) of P. roseola in DONNER (1965). (1)

Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; crop of the above image(2). In contrast to the description of P. roseola in Donner (1965) the head is characterized by a relative small corona (ratio CW : HW ≤ 1). The bolsters between upper lip and trochal columns are very cospicuous. At the anterior base of the rostum a conspicuous ??hypodermis cell?? is visible (arrowhead). (1)

Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; head of another specimen; focus plane on the semicircular sulcus. (1)

Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; focus plane on the bolsters between upper lip and sulcus. Length of this whirling specimen: TL: 340µm (2)

Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; lateral view of specimen in the moment of unfolding of the corona. TL 420µm (2)

Philodina sp. 3 cf roseola; foot with spurs. Spur pseudosegment width (SSW): 15.5µm. The spurs of this morphotype are relative short (compared to the description of P. roseola by Donner 1965) and the tips are not flexible. Spur length (SL): 7µm (ratio: SL/SSW ≈ 0.5); spur base width (SBW: 4.5µm (ratio: SBW/SSW ≈ 0.3); spur interspace width (SIW):7µm ( ratio: SIW/SSW ≈ 0.5). Location (2)

Philodina sp.3; 4 aspects of the ramate trophi. Upper left: lens: 40x; Dental formula (DF): 3/3 (which is in contrast to the description of P. roseola sensu strictu). Upper right: cephalic view; focus plane on the major teeth; DF 3/3 (lens: 100x). Lower left: caudal view; focus plane on the apophysis. Lower right: different focus plane; rami length (RaL): 24,5µm, so the rami length of this morphotype is 60% more than RaL of P. roseola. (2)
